IT Project Manager

Job Description

Our growing company is currently seeking an experienced IT Project Manager. In this role, the IT Project Manager will be responsible for the administration of network and server infrastructure within all departments, planning of technology projects, managing our team of IT professionals, implementing technology security and the execution of all technology-related tasks and initiatives. The successful candidate will also be the liaison with telecommunications providers, and will support our company’s telecommunications infrastructure. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships are essential, as the IT Project Manager will frequently interact with customers. A solid understanding of the software development process, strong analytical skills, and ability to understand complex processes are required for this position.

Responsibilities and Duties

Analyze and define requirements for software solutions for material handling systems
Manage every aspect of IT projects from conception through closure
Create IT requirement specifications for projects
Lead team of Software Developers, Database Administrators and Network Administrators on a project-basis
Frequently communicate and meet with customers during all project phases
Proactively manage project timelines, resources, and risks
Actively communicate with team members about the work and project status
Proactively escalate issues to Head of IT Project Management and Vice President of IT Solutions
Organize project team meetings on an as-needed basis
Support system ramp-up and go-live
Design and implement software solutions based on software requirement specifications
Test software implementation against requirements

Supervisory Responsibilities


Lead project team consisting of Software Developers, Database Administrators, Network Administrators on a project basis.
Occasionally support Sales and Application Engineering departments as IT specialist as required

Design software, hardware and network architecture based on project requirement

Create software documentation for software implementation

Support IT CSS engineers and on-site Software Support Engineers

Set-up and execute test scenarios for commissioning

Troubleshoot system issues in 1st, 2nd or 3rd level depending on project requirements

Provide technology strategy planning

Integrate information technologies into the company for optimal effectiveness

Understand current and future business goals and ongoing IT issues to ensure business success

Develop a renewal and upgrade schedule for company software programs and ensure that employees are following computer use policies, information security and privacy

Participate in recruitment, orientation and ongoing training of new IT staff

Supervise and direct IT personnel

Qualifications and skills 

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field

2+ years’ supervisory experience in an IT Department

6+ years’ experience as an IT professional

In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Project, Google Apps administration, network administration and service desk administration

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Able to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

Current Security Clearance is preferred
